New WOM(M) Blog

« Jon Gabriel Finds My Actionable Post Actionable | Main | More WOMM Bashing from Clueless Commercial Alert »
A new WOM blog called WOM Watch popped up earlier this month. In addition to linking to The Basement several times (which is always a clear indicator of credibility and value) this guy is doing a great job of tracking some really interesting developments in the WOM(M) space. The blog is currently anonymous, but you can tell by reading that this "guy" knows "his" stuff. (I have it on reasonably good authority that the author is in the employ of a major MR firm and is concerned about their reaction to a personal blog of this type. For those of you guessing, no, it not my wife or anyone that works for her company - although they have similar issues.)

Recently, the author, who calls himself Diddy, attended the Factiva Forum in London and reports that Factiva is moving into the CGM analytics space. Also mentioned is Biz360 and Cymfony - two other companies who are morphing themselves into Intelliseek/BuzzMetric competitors that have historically consumed informaiton from Factiva. Diddy makes the astute observation that "it will just be a matter of time before Yahoo!, Microsoft and Google (or 'GYM' as Factiva like to call them) adds an analytics layer to its search capabilities"

I agree with Diddy, I think this space is just beginning to creep up the left-hand side of the hype curve. Stay tuned, things are just starting to get interesting.
