Buzz-o-phone on NPR... kinda

« Back from Palo Alto and Fighting Technical Problems | Main
As many of you may have noticed, I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus. After I got back form the New Comm Forum in March I got distracted doing some other things and after a few weeks, I started to question whether I wanted to continue blogging. I've discovered that, at least for me, blogging is like the proverbial bucket of water from which you remove your hand. While I loved meeting and interacting with people from all over the world and I felt a sense of connection to the communities in which I participated, I've discovered that this feeling fades almost immediately once I stopped blogging. As I removed my hand from the blogosphere, I have to admit I was a little surprised (and maybe a little disappointed) to see that it didn't leave a hole. Of course, this feeling is without foundation... so I now I'm a little embarrassed to have been surprised. It's all quite fascinating if you take a minute to think about it.

Anyway, just before I stopped posting I was interview by the Norman, Oklahoma NPR affiliate KGOU's News Director Scott Gurian about Buzz-o-phone. The story aired on Monday and I felt that the least I could do was to link to it. I really enjoyed the interview and I think Scott did a great job capturing the essence of Buzz-ophone. I also talk a bit about Word-of-Mouth in general. It was great fun. It's a little surreal to hear yourself in an "NPR style" interview. Very cool. Thanks Scott! (Story text description and link is here - look for April 24th.)
